Abstract

The National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) is one of the surveys conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) since 1963. The survey was designed to collect population data with a relatively broad scope, so that the resulting data can be used by the government to implement sectoral development planning and across sectors. In addition to looking at the situation, monitoring, and evaluating the implementation of the development program, the availability of continuous data is also needed to make corrections to the development programs being carried out. Susenas is held annually by BPS. Throughout its implementation, Susenas has experienced improvements, both in terms of coverage, methodology, field organizations, and others. It aims to meet the demands of a diverse community of data users and in an effort to obtain quality data. Since 1992, core data collection and special data (modules) have been conducted through Susenas. Core data including demographics, education, health / nutrition, housing, household consumption / expenditure data, income and other socio-economic characteristics are collected annually through the Susenas Kor questionnaire, while module data collection includes data on household consumption, expenditure, socio-cultural and education, and health and housing are collected every three years alternately through the Susenas Module questionnaire. This publication presents statistics that have been considered to adequately represent various fields and socio-economic conditions of the community by considering the eligibility requirements of estimates at the Regency / City level as indicated by the value of Relative Standard Error (RSE) included in the appendix.
