The National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas) is one of the surveys conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) since 1963. The survey was designed to collect social data on population that is relatively wide, so that the data can be used by the government to implement sectoral development planning as well as across sectors. In addition to observing the circumstances, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the development program, the continuous availability of data is also required to make corrections to the development program being implemented. Susenas is held annually by BPS. Throughout its implementation, Susenas has undergone improvements, both in terms of coverage, methodology, field organization, and so on. It aims to meet the demands of the community of data users are increasingly diverse and in an effort to obtain quality data. Since 1992, the collection of basic data (cor) and special data (module) is done through Susenas. Core data covering demographic, education, health / nutrition, housing, household consumption / expenditure, income and other socioeconomic characteristics were collected annually through the Core Susenas questionnaire, while module data collection included household consumption / expenditure data, socio-cultural and education, as well as health and housing are collected every three years on a rolling basis through the Susenas Module questionnaire.
