Abstract

  • The total workforce based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) in August 2024 was 4.66 million people, an increase of 71.64 thousand people compared to August 2023. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 0.10 percentage points compared to August 2023.
  • The working population in August 2024 was 4.48 million people, an increase of 80.44 thousand people from August 2023. The business fields that experienced the largest increase were Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries at 62.02 thousand people.
  • In August 2024, 1.69 million people (37.66 percent) worked in formal activities, an increase of 0.63 percentage points compared to August 2023.
  • The percentage of underemployed in August 2024 increased by 1.37 percentage points, likewise, part-time workers increased by 1.95 percentage points compared to August 2023.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 3.86 percent, down 0.25 percentage points compared to August 2023.
