Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in Sumatera Selatan, February 2024 was 3.15 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.67 The highest inflation was seen in Muara Enim Regency at 4.63 percent with a CPI of 106.98, while the lowest was seen in Lubuk Linggau City at 2.15 percent with a CPI of 104.50.
Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in all expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 7.81 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 0.28 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 1.64 percent; Health Group of 1.30 percent; Transport Group of 0.91 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.51 percent; Education Group of 1.65 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 1.51 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 2.75 percent. Meanwhile Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group’s index decreased by 0.01 percent and Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group’s index decreased by 0.21 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in February 2024 was 0.01 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.07 percent.
