Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in Sumatera Selatan, March 2024 was 3.24 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.93. The highest inflation was seen in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency at 4.56 percent with a CPI of 107.00, while the lowest was seen in Lubuk Linggau City at 2.36 percent with a CPI of 104.81.
Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in all expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 8.13 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 1.83 percent; Health Group of 1.34 percent; Transport Group of 0.75 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.45 percent; Education Group of 1.62 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 1.78 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 3.03 percent. Meanwhile Clothing and Footwear Group decreased by 0.28 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group’s index decreased by 0.24 percent and Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group’s index decreased by 0.38 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in March 2024 was 0.25 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 0.18 percent.
