Abstract

  • South Sumatra's export value in June 2023 reached US$548.46 million, down 5.51 percent compared to exports in May 2023. Compared to June 2022, the export value fell by 7.37 percent.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in June 2023 reached US$503.95 million, down 6.11 percent compared to May 2023. Compared to June 2022, non-oil and gas exports fell by 2.32 percent.
  • Cumulatively, the export value of South Sumatra from January to June 2023 reached US$3,466.37 million, up 3.33 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
  • The largest share of June 2023 exports was China at US$207.60 million, India at US$71.85 million and Malaysia at US$46.11 million.
  • Cumulatively, South Sumatra's largest export value from January to June 2023 was directed to China in the amount of US$1,531.27 million, India in the amount of US$336.71 million, and Malaysia in the amount of US$243.16 million, with the contribution of the three of them reaching 60.90 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union were 21.79 percent and 3.02 percent, respectively.
  • South Sumatra's import value in June 2023 reached US$45.98 million, down 51.15 percent compared to May 2023, and down 51.45 percent compared to June 2022.
  • June 2023 oil and gas imports were valued at US$0.96 million, down 83.25 percent compared to May 2023, and down 45.64 percent compared to June 2022.
  • June 2023 non-oil and gas imports were valued at US$45.01 million, down 49.06 percent compared to May 2023, and down 51.56 percent compared to June 2022.
  • The three largest suppliers of imported goods from January to June 2023 are China US$154.35 million (43.41 percent), Malaysia US$26.28 million (7.39 percent) and Thailand US$25.67 million (7.22 percent). . The value of imports from ASEAN in January-June 2023 was US$101.63 million (28.58 percent) and the European Union US$40.56 million (11.41 percent).
  • South Sumatra's trade balance in June 2023 experienced a surplus of US$ 502.48 million, originating from the non-oil and gas sector of US$ 458.93 million, and the oil and gas sector of US$ 43.55 million.
