  • The total workforce in South Sumatra Province in August 2021 was 4.40 million people, an increase of 69.2 thousand people compared to August 2020. In line with the increase in the number of the workforce, the Labor Force Participation Rate also increased by 0.12 percentage points.
  • The working population in South Sumatra Province in August 2021 was 4.18 million people, an increase of 88.3 thousand people compared to August 2020. In terms of the structure of employment, the largest percentage increase was Wholesale and Retail Trade (1.08 percentage points) . Meanwhile, the sectors that experienced the biggest decline were the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (1.02 percentage points).
