Abstract

  • In October 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in South Sumatra Province will be 1.09 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.87. The highest inflation occurred in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency at 1.44 percent with a CPI of 107.05 and the lowest occurred in Lubuk Linggau City at 0.89 percent with a CPI of 104.61
  • Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.20 percent;  housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.70 percent; health group by 1.71 percent; transportation group by 1.13 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 2.05 percent;  education group by 1.82 percent;  food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.40 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 8.51 percent.  Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: clothing and footwear group by 1.39 percent;  the equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group was 0.54 percent and the information, communication and financial services group was 0.37 percent.
  • The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for South Sumatra Province in October 2024 is 0.09 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate is 0.12 percent
