Farmers’ Terms of Trade (FTT) January 2024 was 109.33 or fell 0.18 percent

Abstract

FTT is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib). FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
Sumatera Selatan Province’s FTT was 109.33 or decreased by 0.18 percent compared with FTT in December 2023. The decrease in FTT was due to the decrease in FTT of horticulture at 7.35 percent, plantation at 0.03 percent, livestock at 1.10 percent and marine capture fishery at 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, The FTT for food crop, and aquaculture increased at 0.29 percent, 0.54 and 0.17 percent.
The price index of household consumption rose 0.07percent, from 121.51 in December 2023 to 121.59 in January 2024.
Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 110.44 in January 2024 or decreased by 0.49 percent compared to December 2023.
