Abstract

The increase in HDI 2023 will occur in all dimensions, including long and healthy lives, knowledge, and decent living standards.
HDI growth in 2023 has accelerated from the previous year. All dimensions forming HDI have increased, especially the decent living standards dimension.
In the dimension of longevity and healthy living, babies born in 2023 have the hope of living up to 74.67 years, an increase of 0.40 years compared to those born in the previous year. The data source for life expectancy at birth uses the results of the Long Form SP2020 (SP2020-LF).
In the knowledge dimension, the expected length of schooling for the population aged 7 years increased by 0.16 years compared to the previous year, from 13.39 to 13.55 years. Apart from that, the average length of schooling for people aged 25 years and over also increased by 0.02 years, from 9.91 years to 9.93 years in 2023. The HLS and RLS data sources use the March Susenas results.
In the dimension of decent living standards, which is measured based on the adjusted average per capita expenditure per year, there was an increase of 379 thousand rupiah (2.74 percent) compared to the previous year. The data source for real expenditure per capita per year uses the results of the March Susenas.
