Abstract
HDI South Sumatera Year 2016
Þ Human development in South Sumatera in 2016 continues to progress as marked by the continued Human Development Index (HDI) of South Sumatra. In 2016, HDI South Sumatra has reached 68.24. This figure increased by 0.78 points compared with the South Sumatera HDI in 2015 which amounted to 67.46.
Þ In 2016, human development in South Sumatra is still of "medium" status, still equal to its status in 2015. South Sumatera's HDI in 2016 grew by 1.16 percent and is the second fastest growth in Indonesia after Papua province.
Þ During the period 2015 to 2016, the components of the HDI also increased. Newborns have a chance to live up to 69 years. 7 years old children have a chance to go to school for 12 years. Meanwhile, the population aged 25 years and over on average have been educated for 8 years. Per capita spending adjusted (constant 2012 prices) of the community has reached 9.94 million rupiah in 2016, an increase of 461 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year.
