Abstract

"The national peasant exchange rate (NTP) in February 2012 was 105.10 or decreased 0.60 percent compared to the previous month's NTP due to the decline in all NTP subsectors, NTP Food Crops Sub-sector decreased by 1.02 percent, NTP Horticulture Sub-sector decreased by 0 , 23 percent, NTP Subsector of Smallholder Plantation fell by 0.16 percent, NTP Livestock Sub-sector decreased by 0.09 percent and NTP Fisheries Sub-sector decreased by 0.39 percent. In February 2012, South Sumatra's NTP Province experienced the highest increase (1.13 percent) compared to other provinces NTP increase. In contrast, NTP East Java Province experienced the largest decrease (1.39 percent) compared to other provinces NTP decline. In February 2012, inflation in rural areas in Indonesia stood at 0.46 percent due to the rise of the entire Expenditure Group index. Based on 971 grain sales transactions in 20 provinces during February 2012, dominated transactions of dry grain harvest (GKP) 65.81 percent, low quality grain 25.95 percent, and 8.24 percent dry grain (GKG). During February 2012, the average price of grain quality of GKP at farmers was Rp4,156.31 per kg (down 5.67 percent) and in milling Rp4.232,68 per kg (down 5.42 percent) compared to same quality in January 2012 , At the grain quality of GKG at Rp4,667.85 per kg (down 2.28 percent) and in the mill Rp4,755.16 per kg (down 2.11 percent). Whereas low-quality rice in farmers Rp3.549, 24 per kg (down 6.70 percent) and in the milling Rp3.622, 522 per kg (down 6.65 percent). Compared to the average price in February 2011, the overall grain quality group increased. In farmers, the price of grain quality GKP rose 21.65 percent, the quality of GKG rose 17.64 percent, and low quality rose 39.57 percent during February 2012. While in the milling, grain quality GKP rose 21.61 percent, , 00 percent, and low quality up 38.91 percent. "
