Abstract
"In December 2011 inflation stood at 0.57 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 129.91.From 66 city CPI, this month all experienced inflation.The highest inflation occurred in Kupang 2.19 percent with CPI 138.37 and the lowest occurred in Tanjung Pinang 0.02 percent with CPI 129.86.
Inflation was attributable to rising prices as indicated by the increase of all expenditure group indices, namely: foodstuffs group 1.62 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco 0.50 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.28 percent; clothing group 0.20 percent; health group 0.17 percent; 0.07 percent of the education, recreation and sports group and the transport, communication and financial services group 0.14 percent.
The inflation rate for calendar year (January-December) 2011 and year-on-year inflation rate (December 2011 to December 2010) were 3.79 percent.
The core component in December 2011 experienced inflation of 0.28 percent, the rate of core component inflation for calendar year (January-December) 2011 and core component inflation rate year on year (December 2011 to December 2010) were respectively 4.34 percent. "
