Archipelago Tourist Survey 2019

Nusantara tourists (wisnus) are Indonesian residents who travel in the territory of Indonesia.

Wisnus is able to move the economy through household consumption. Activities carried out by tourists are considered capable of driving the transportation, hospitality, creative industries, etc. For this reason, it is necessary to have accurate, up to date and detailed data on domestic tourists.

From 1981 to 2008, BPS conducted data collection on tourism services as one of the modules in the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) held every 3 years. The years 2011 - 2014 are conducted quarterly as part of the Susenas Kor data collection. 2016 and 2017 were carried out separately by BPS in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism. Starting in 2018, BPS will do it again as a routine activity in supporting the Government Priority Program.
