November 7, 2017 became a historic day for functional officials of Computer Computers throughout Indonesia. On that day at the 1st floor of 10th floor of the Central Bureau of Statistics, Jakarta, they held the Computer Prestigious Congress (Prakom) for the first time. The congress that aims to form the Professional Organization for the Functional Position of the Computer Network becomes a milestone for them to step forward with great confidence. The Profession Organization is called Prakom Indonesia Association (iPrakom), complementing other existing professional functional profession organization, such as Ipramumas (Ikatan Pranata Humas).

The Central Bureau of Statistics, as the institution of Functional Preparation of Computer Engineering, has the obligation to form the professional organization, as mandated by Government Regulation No. 11 Year 2017 on Civil Servant Management.

The congress, entitled "The Advanced Computer System in the Development of ICT in Government", also aims to find the figure of IPrakom chairman of the first period. No less than 3 (three) candidates who will advance in the election are Mohammad Ari Nugraha (Deputy of Statistical Methodology and Information Bureau, BPS), Bajoe Loedi Hargono (Director of Information System Development, BKN), and Muchammad Romzi (Director of Statistical Information System, CPM). They will be selected by congress participants, through online voting using their respective voters' devices. Voting results showed the most votes fell on Muchammad Romzi, who will be chairman of iPrakom for the first time

In addition to the above core events, this congress is also filled with Keynote Speech delivered by Rudiantara, Minister of Communications and Informatics, as well as talk show as one of knowledge sharing for congress participants. Talkshow featured resource person Prof. Suhono (the originator of the Smart City concept); Iwan Sumantri (network and data security); and Rini Widyantini (strengthening of functional position in institutional), and moderator Zilivia Iskandar (newscaster on Metro TV station).

On the occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Communication and Informatics was represented by the Minister Rudiantara and the Central Bureau of Statistics represented by the head of BPS, Kecuk Suhariyanto. This Memorandum of Understanding covers cooperation between the two agencies in the provision, utilization, and development of data and / or statistical information in the field of communications and informatics. A similar cooperation was previously conducted between BPS and Kemenkominfo, ie in 2014. However, cooperation at that time focused more on Universal Service Obligation in the field of Telecommunications and Informatics.

In addition to the high officials and functional officials of the computer institutions of these two institutions, this congress also attended functional officials of Ministries / Institutions and Local Governments from all over Indonesia.

In his speech the head of BPS, Kecuk Suhariyanto said that in BPS, the application of information technology plays an important role in conducting business process of statistical activities from upstream to downstream. This can not be separated from the important role of functional officials of computer institutions in BPS. They are able to create innovations and breakthroughs in the form of information systems, validation rule systems, database design and development, websites, cyber security systems, application of CAPI in various surveys, and many other aspects.
Kecuk also expects that these professional organizations can have a positive impact on the career development of their members, and can bring benefits to the nation and state of Indonesia, and can contribute positively to national development.
